Medicaid Coverage of Nursing Homes Plummets

According to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), demand for Medicaid-covered nursing home care has dropped from approximately 1.4 million seniors in 1995 to fewer than 1.1 million in 2010, a figure last seen in 1975. See the chart below.
