How long have you been at MBD? 17 years, I started here as a law clerk during my last year of law school. I love the work we do and the people I have met here, so I have never left.
If you weren’t an attorney, what would you do instead? I would be a teacher, probably for elementary to middle school age students. I really enjoy teaching and educating (educating clients and families is what I love most about this job) and I love kids. I would love to give kids the tools and information they need to become what they hope to be in their adult lives.
Who was the most influential person in your life? My mother. She was present, kind, nurturing, genuine, generous, inclusive, patient and strong. She was the type of person that would always give any person grace and the benefit of the doubt and you could not leave her house without a hug and a kiss (this was true for anyone entering the home, not just family). My five brothers and sisters and I were privileged to be raised by someone like her and anyone who knew her would say they were grateful to know her. She made me believe I could do whatever I wanted to do. From a young age I wanted to be either lawyer or a teacher (see above) and I followed through because of her support. As a mother I think ‘what would she do right now’ when I’m in a tough spot with my kids. She is definitely my most influential person.
On any given Saturday, where can we find you and what would you be doing? At CrossFit with friends or yoga in the morning and then on a soccer field watching my daughter’s first game of the weekend.
Favorite food to eat or make or both? Fells steak tips (Fells Market in Wellesley). They are delicious, done in 10 minutes, cooked on the grill so no clean up, my entire family loves them and they go with any side. Highly recommend if you haven’t tried these!
Best place you have traveled, and/or dream destination? Anywhere with my husband and our girls. Our kids are in middle school and I know this time is precious because it goes by fast. Practicing in this area of law makes you reflect on how you are living your life and who you are living it with because in the end, you realize that’s all that actually matters. So, right now I’m not too worried about where we are going so long as we are going together.
