Wellesley, MA., May 1, 2025 – Margolis Bloom & D’Agostino, an estate, special needs and long-term care planning law firm, is delighted to announce that D’Vaughn Ovince, a second-year law student at Suffolk University Law School, has been awarded its annual Estate Planning Scholarship; this is the third year MBD has given this award.
D’Vaughn completed his undergraduate degree at Florida Atlantic University with a BA focusing on political science and government. He hopes to work in the field of estate planning when he graduates from law school.
“As a Black man,” D’Vaughn said, “I recognize the obstacles that marginalized communities face in achieving financial stability. Many Black families and individuals struggle to access estate planning resources, and many LGBTQ+ individuals face significant obstacles regarding estate planning. I can help by providing legal services, educating the community on the importance of estate planning, and advocating for policy changes as well. By pursuing a career as an estate planning attorney, I aim to serve as a bridge to address this issue, assisting underserved communities in creating generational wealth and preparing for their futures.”

The MBD award is given to a second- or third-year law student attending a law school in Massachusetts who is interested in serving BIPOC communities in the field of estate planning. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage law students from backgrounds underrepresented in the field to consider estate planning.
